No longer will you have to pilfer through stacks of tapes looking for the latest backup. It's all organized by backup date and time so that you know exactly what data you are restoring.

And the best part? You won't have to worry about your tape failing or having corrupt data on it.

Lotus Disaster Recovery - The power of automated DB recovery

Not until now has there been a backup solution that has developed such a specific interface with the Lotus software package.  Circadian Force has developed this plug-in to allow IBM software users the same data reliability and ease of use as many other Databases software and Mail servers already enjoy.

How Lotus Disaster Recovery works

Our DataForce software now includes an add-on utility that automatically vaults your Lotus Notes or Domino database using Disk-to-Disk (D2D) technology. Full backups are stored at our Tier-1 data center where they are monitored 24/7 and subjected to integrity checks at the completion of every Backup Set. Differential backups are then stored in an organized and structured fashion allowing for a simplistic yet complete restore. This allows the vaulting of only the changed portion of a database, or only changed mailboxes.  Furthermore, it allows for individual changes or mailboxes to be restored at any time.

DataForce v.s. Tape - Capturing your intraday database transactions

Most tape systems aren't fast enough to keep up with intraday backups. Because of this, most organizations only do backups at night, not during the day. However, the failure to perform backups during business hours could result in the loss of an entire day's data if the database fails before the backup is performed. Fortunately, DataForce for Lotus Notes and Domino provides us with the capability to backup transactions and changes to the databases or mailboxes even during normal business hours - a feature that provides an efficient mechanism to decrease the amount of potential data loss.

During the course of normal operations, this plug-in tracks all of the modifications performed on database. This log ensures both that the database is able to recover when abruptly interrupted (such as a loss of power) and that users are able to undo (or "rollback" in database lingo) the results of a database transaction. Unfinished transactions are maintained in the log before they are permanently stored (or "committed") in the database. Backing up the transaction log enables us to restore copies of the database's transaction log in the event of a catastrophe.

Disaster Recovery for Lotus - That's the Discipline

The proper discipline of database and transaction log backups results in a disaster recovery model where no more than an hour's data should be lost after a catastrophic event with a minimal impact on system performance. With the speed, accuracy, and reliability that DataForce is able to perform backups and restorations, this service is crucial for any business that depends on their Lotus database.

Lastly, this plug-in allows individual mailboxes to be restored without taking the time to restore the entire notes database, and without overwriting other users mailboxes that do not need to be restored.
