How Lotus Disaster Recovery works

Our DataForce software now includes an add-on utility that automatically vaults your Lotus Notes or Domino database using Disk-to-Disk (D2D) technology. Full backups are stored at our Tier-1 data center where they are monitored 24/7 and subjected to integrity checks at the completion of every Backup Set. Differential backups are then stored in an organized and structured fashion allowing for a simplistic yet complete restore. This log ensures both that the database is able to recover when abruptly interrupted (such as a loss of power) and that users are able to undo (or "rollback" in database lingo) the results of a database transaction. Unfinished transactions are maintained in the log before they are permanently stored (or "committed") in the database. Backing up the transaction log enables us to restore copies of the database's transaction log in the event of a catastrophe.
