Off-site Backup is the newest way to completely secure critical computer data in the information age. Vaulting is secure, powerful, and reliable.

The "Vaulting" technology metaphorically acts just like the vault in a bank. For example, people take jewelry and valuables to a safe deposit box in a bank when they want them to be kept safe. Similarly, people use Circadian Force's Off-site Backup solution for their valuable and critical data when they need that data kept safe and secure.

Off-site Backup software safely and securely transports critical computer information to an off-site Data center where files are neatly tucked away from prying eyes. Through the security of the software and the reliability of the Data center, critical files and data are impervious to destruction or data attenuation. This means that the vaulted files are kept safe forever, even in the event of a major catastrophe such as a fire, tornado, hurricane, or flood. Because the data is stored off-site at a Tier-1 Data center, the sanctity of a company's information is always monitored and stored out of harm's way. The vaulting process takes place automatically and has a reliability rating of "High Availability," which translates into 99.999% uptime (5 minutes per year of scheduled downtime). In the end, what does all of this mean?

- The data is constantly backed up without any user intervention

- The data's integrity is monitored by the software to prevent corruption

- The data is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of location

- Security and reliability is similar to Fort Knox

- Less expensive than historical solutions such as tape backup

- No need for additional hardware or software

With Off-site Backup, there is no question as to whether or not your backup actually worked. Off-site Backup gives you a progress report after every backup job explicitly detailing whether the job passed or failed.

Most customers utilize some sort of tape backup unit for their backup strategy. Those businesses that have ever attempted to perform a restore from tape, however, may question the reliability of tape backup. The facts dictate that tape backup solutions are prone to failure. The most common tape backup solutions experience data attenuation that can be measured annually, as tapes are a form of magnetic media and can wear out much like the tires on a car. Most tapes experience a loss of over 10% of the data or a failure rate of over 10% on an annual basis.

Tape Drives:
4 mm DAT: 11.1% AFR (Annual Failure Rate)
DLT:  11.0% AFR (Annual Failure Rate)
Disk Drives:  3.8% AFR (Magnetic Media Backup)
Tape Library Systems:  20% to 51% AFR (Annual Failure Rate)
Data Center:  0.001% AFR (99.999% uptime)
